Making money online might seem like one of those far-fetched ideas that only a lucky few are able to do. But that’s only because you haven’t done it yet.
Imagine waking up every morning to this.
Cha…Ching! Cha…Ching! Cha…Ching!
The sweet sound of a virtual cash register continuously alerting you of sale after sale after sale is one of the sweetest known to modern day man or woman.
If you want to be among those that make their living entirely online, then some of these ideas might pique your interest.
Let’s look at 10 easy ways you can start making money online in 2021 (and don’t worry surveys won’t be on this list 😉).
1. Buy and Sell Shares of Art Online
You might not know it, but you can actually buy and sell shares of art online using just your computer or smartphone.
Thank the Universe for technology!
2. Start an Affiliate Marketing Business
Another easy way to make money online is affiliate marketing.
I can already hear your objections. (But everyone says it’s so hard to make money with affiliate marketing unless you create a ton of content and market your blog every single day and post on social media and hand over your firstborn child and blah blah blah.)
Affiliate marketing is easy if you do it the easy way.
So what’s the easy way, you ask?
Here it is.
Get approved for a few affiliate programs and get the links to products you want to promote.
Go to a free stock photo site and find a photo that matches what message you’re trying to convey or the product you’re trying to sell.
Create a Pin on Pinterest. Promote it.
Sit back and start making sales.
3. Become an eBook Narrator
Ebook narrators can earn some serious bank.
Projects often go for hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars.
If you want in on the action, head to ACX.com, create an account and start working on your first sample.
Keep in mind that while the work is easy, you’ll still need to learn a little bit about the way the site does things.
Also, if you’re new to this, you may need a few pieces of equipment to get started.
4. Create Niche-Specific YouTube videos
Creating niche-specific YouTube videos can be a lucrative way to bring in some extra money.
YouTube makes people rich every year and although it might not make you rich, it could still earn you a decent passive income every month if you dedicate some time to creating interesting, relatable content that’s specific to a targeted, but somewhat untapped market.
Start researching niches you might be interested in using to launch your YouTube business.
Figure out which niches have the least amount of competition, but still generates some interest that’ll allow you to make money from it.
5. Start an Online Marijuana-Related Business
While getting into the medical marijuana industry might be somewhat of a marathon, there are other marijuana-adjacent businesses you could start and become pretty successful with.
For example, you can get started with any of the following marijuana-related businesses:
- Cannabis farm (okay, this one’s not online but it’s still a viable option)
- Edibles business
- Canni-florist business (can potentially take orders online)
- Marijuana packaging production company
- Cannabis subscription box service
- Marijuana delivery business
- Cannabis product review business
- Cannabis cosmetics company
- Cannabis-related blog
- Cannabis-related app development company
- Cannabis consultant company
- Marijuana parties business
- Cannabis event planning business
- Cannabis retail business
- Marijuana marketing company
- Cannabis accessories store
6. Get Paid to Write Slogans
Companies are always looking for creative new ways to engage with their target audiences.
That means they need catchy slogans and they don’t come up with them on their own.
They hire creative people like you to come up with new slogans all the time.
So if you’ve got a way worth words, this could be your ticket.
Check out Slogan Seller if you’re serious about selling your services.
7. Start an Online Content Creation Agency
Anyone can create content.
Like, literally anyone. And that includes you.
If you’ve got an eye for design or a love of the written word, you can create content for companies and make good money doing it.
It just takes getting your first few clients by creating a portfolio of the content you’ve already created either for yourself or other clients (could be a friend or family member with a new business).
Once you’ve got some samples to show potential clients, you can start promoting yourself using your website and on social media.
8. Start a Proofreading Business
Got a way with words? Start a proofreading business. Specifically, transcript proofreading since it’s still a fairly untapped market.
Don’t know where to start?
Take a proofreading course to help you brush up on your skills. Caitlin Pyle’s Proofread Anywhere course is a great way to get your feet wet while deciding if this is the right path for you.
Once you’ve got the foundation down, you can think about taking the steps to create your proofreading business.
9. Review Music
Ever heard of SlicethePie? Well, it’s a site that allows you to make money reviewing new music from lesser-known artists for money.
You’ll have to give honest feedback and if you start writing the same feedback over and over, you could get banned from earning money on the site.
So take your time and really give your honest and unmitigated feedback if you want to continue earning money.
10. Write Book Reviews
Getting paid to write book reviews might sound too good to be true, but trust me, there are tons of places you can get paid to write book reviews for new (and established) authors and earn money from it.
It’s not all that hard to do, but the pay isn’t going to cover your bills. So think of this as a way to earn a couple of extra bucks instead of as an additional part-time income stream.
Try the following sites to get paid to review books:
- Online Book Club
- Kirkus Media
- The U.S. Review of Books
- Publisher’s Weekly
- Any Subject Books
- Women’s Review of Books
Making Money Can Be Easy
Making money online these days isn’t as hard as you might think. As long as you’ve got the guidance (this blog) and tools (that I often link to or offer in my digital products store), you can make money online within the next 30 days – with a little bit of elbow grease (as my mom would say).
Remember, it might take a little bit of time and effort to do this, but you got this. And you can always come back here and tell me about your experience or leave a comment to ask questions or give advice based on your experiences.
And don’t be shy about sharing.
